 50+ Employment Connection in Santa Fe

The Aging and Long-Term Services Department provides training opportunities to low-income workers who are 55 years and older. The Senior Employment Program helps older persons find temporary, part-time training assignments in senior centers, private non-profit organizations and government offices. 

Training assignments are for 20 hours a week and pay $7.50 an hour.

You may qualify if you are:

  • 55 or older;

  • Not meeting your financial obligations on Social Security or other retirement income;

  • Interested in updating your job skills; or

  • In need of developing new skills.

For each additional family member, add $4,950 to the maximum annual income listed above.

In cooperation with the New Mexico Department of Labor's Workforce Development Centers, the Aging and Long-Term Services Department provides older persons with employment and training assistance through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The WIA promotes "Work First" by providing job search, counseling, resume and application preparation services and classroom and on-the-job training.
