These same services are provided by the Senior Citizens' Law Office to Bernalillo County residents who are 60 years of age and older. Legal services are available even if you are homebound or in the hospital. Whenever possible, they will be provided in language you will understand and, most importantly, they will represent your interests.

For legal cases that fall within the following priority areas, and depending on the circumstances, there may be no charge for services:

• Income protection (Social Security, SSI, VA and other government benefits)

• Health care coverage

• Long-term care

• Powers of attorney, living will

• Housing and utilities

• Tenant's disputes with landlord

• Consumer problems

• Abuse, neglect and financial exploitation

• Foreclosure

• Guardianship and conservatorship

For legal cases that are not a priority, you will be charged a fee, which can be negotiated with the lawyer.
