Alzheimer’s & Dementia Caregiving.
What is Alzheimer’s Disease?
Alzheimer’s disease, the most common type of dementia, accounts for about 60-80% of all cases of dementia, a constellation of diseases and conditions that cause impaired memory and cognition, behavior changes and are ultimately fatal. It is not a normal part of aging. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time and symptoms can vary. The first problem many people may notice is forgetfulness severe enough to affect their ability to function at home, work, or in enjoying lifelong hobbies. It is a disease that may cause a person to become confused, lost in familiar places, misplace things, or have trouble with language. For more information, visit the Alzheimer’s Association.
